About The Cedars

Making the Decision
Families often experience heightened states of frustration and anxiety when considering whether residential support for recovery is a sound treatment option. The expertise of The Cedars team can help with this decision-making process.

Staff members carefully review every component of the treatment process, to ensure that the young women and their family members make fully informed decisions about the best way to move beyond the pain of addiction to a life of opportunity and choice.

The slideshow on the right gives an overview of the Cedars facility.

The Cedars

Our Staff
The comprehensive approach to treatment at The Cedars requires that staff have a wide range of therapeutic skills and expertise.

We employ people with recognized university degrees, ranging from therapists with a Master's degree in Counselling Psychology to counsellors with a Bachelor degree in Psychology and Social Work.

There are also staff with Substance Abuse Certification and/or years of experience in treating substance misuse. The residents will also see an Addictions Physician.

The Purpose Society
The Cedars is a program of the Lower Mainland Purpose Society. Residents of The Cedars also have access to the services provided by the Purpose Society. Staff at the Purpose Society include nurses, clinical counsellors, registered social workers, teachers and First Nations workers. The Purpose Society trains employees in the area of cultural sensitivity.
